Hello Everybody,
If any of you were up late last night we experienced the
longest dark night in the last 500 years for a winter solstice.
That is because we also experienced a lunar eclipse as well,
I’m mad at myself that I was not up on that I should have been, but with family invading
my house (and happily I may add) it slipped my mind.
But today is officially Yule, the shortest day and the
longest night in the Northern hemisphere, down in the Southern hemisphere it’s
the opposite which must make things really confusing.
But a friend of mine, who is Wiccan, sent me this and asked
if I experienced any of these events last night:
1
.
Faint penumbral dimming of the moon’s disk.
2
2.
Pervasive creeping sensations of unease.
3
3.
Howling of wolves.
4
4.
Unclean things walk the earth; Dick Cheney rises
from the grave.
5
5.
Contortion of the zodiac.
6
.
Intrusion of strange dimensions.
7
7.
Universal gibbering madness.
8
8.
Cthulhu.
9
9.
A glimmer of sanity in the chaos.
1
10.
Restoration of Euclidean geometry.
1
11.
Fungal Mi-go from Yuggoth return captive brains
to their rightful owners.
1
12.
Applause, followed by waffles for breakfast.
I replied to her “No, just the invasion of the children and
grandchildren showing up for Christmas, the usual insanity” and laughed at the thought.
For some reason the arrival of my family showing up just as
Yule approaches seemed to be well timed, for during this darkest period is when
we should be with those who love and care for us, and if one is alone to seek
out those places that offer warmth, food, comfort and help.
Only we make ourselves to be alone, when it doesn’t have to
be, I had a friend of mine who had to move away from family and friends to go
with her husband to a new job, unfortunately he has the kind of job where he
has to work these holidays. She hated
the idea of being alone. She called me
and asked what should she do?
I suggested to her to seek out a church or
organization that will be serving food to the poor, the homeless, go outside of yourself and reach out to
others who need help, you’ll find that you won’t be alone.
And she did that, and
every Thanksgiving, and Christmas, she
helped serve food to those in need, she volunteered at her local food bank,
help gather warm coats for those in need, and ever since then she has never
felt alone.
During the Summer months they return to visit family, but
during the Holidays her and her now retired husband spend their time helping
those who need help.
So if you are alone, go to one of those Churches or
organizations and offer to help, you will never regret it.
I will continue to post articles but after the Christmas
Holidays, so to Everyone who reads my Blog, no matter what your belief is, I
wish you all a Very Happy and Merry Christmas and may this Season of Giving be
