Happy 4th of July!!! Taking a short break~~~

Hello Everyone,

Right now I am with my family and friends (and there are a lot of them here) we are celebrating the 4th of July Independence Day.

I got “Hi-jacked” to go and see the local parade, with bands, and floats and what I love the most is the mounted horse units, especially the Caballeros with their spirited horses.   And we know when the parade has ended because the last display unit is the city street sweeper.

At least I could sit in a comfortable chair and out of the sun,  my family has cooked up lots of bar-be-que and they will go and watch the sanctioned fireworks, while some of the older members will stay home with me to make sure the illegal fireworks don’t set anything on fire.

I am able to walk around a bit better, the Doctor has me in a figure 8 cross-brace now, which is like an extra, extra heavy duty compression bandage with fancy ace bandages,  and I use a cane and always someone holds my arm to make sure I don’t fall.    I need that with the little one’s running around blowing bubbles, sometimes they don’t see where they are going.

I’m also going to physical therapy to make sure I get full range of motion, but I can forget 3 inch heels, well I never wore them anyway, always pinched my toes.

I’ve managed to squeeze in a few replies to questions and comments but I’m going to have to take a break for the next day or two to recover from the festivities and go to my doctor appointments.

Now I have not forgotten your question Jay, nor yours Onyx, but give me a little time to respond, I did get seriously invaded.

And the little ones want to watch for the next few days a Harry Potter film marathon because some of them are going to the Universal Resort to see the Harry Potter section.   I wish I could go but I’m no longer built for some of those roller coaster type rides.

One interesting thing that I’ve been having is a chat with some of the family and some of my practitioner friends, is about St. Martha also known as St. Martha the Dominator because it was brought up in one of my questions.    So much so that I may do a blog post about her.

I’ve always said that sometimes it pays to work with the saints because their energy can help us in dealing with problems.    But we also have to remember that sometimes the saints may say “no”, and that is because they may see something better for us, or because it is a life lesson we need to learn from.

So I will return in a day or two,  right now I have to go,  they brought out dessert!   I always say “Life is short, eat the dessert first!”  but oh my how my nephew cooked up those ribs!!

Bright Blessings,
Ms. Q

A Happy Yule and Winter Solistice Greeting~~~~

Hello Everybody,

If any of you were up late last night we experienced the longest dark night in the last 500 years for a winter solstice.

That is because we also experienced a lunar eclipse as well, I’m mad at myself  that I was not up on that I should have been, but with family invading my house (and happily I may add) it slipped my mind.

But today is officially Yule, the shortest day and the longest night in the Northern hemisphere, down in the Southern hemisphere it’s the opposite which must make things really confusing.

But a friend of mine, who is Wiccan, sent me this and asked if I experienced any of these events last night:
1
.          Faint penumbral dimming of the moon’s disk.
2
2.       Pervasive creeping sensations of unease.
3
3.       Howling of wolves.
4
4.       Unclean things walk the earth; Dick Cheney rises from the grave.
5
5.       Contortion of the zodiac.
6
.          Intrusion of strange dimensions.
7
7.       Universal gibbering madness.
8
8.       Cthulhu.
9
9.       A glimmer of sanity in the chaos.
1
10.   Restoration of Euclidean geometry.
1
11.    Fungal Mi-go from Yuggoth return captive brains to their rightful owners.
1
12.   Applause, followed by waffles for breakfast.

I replied to her “No, just the invasion of the children and grandchildren showing up for Christmas, the usual insanity”  and laughed at the thought.

For some reason the arrival of my family showing up just as Yule approaches seemed to be well timed, for during this darkest period is when we should be with those who love and care for us, and if one is alone to seek out those places that offer warmth, food, comfort and help.

Only we make ourselves to be alone, when it doesn’t have to be, I had a friend of mine who had to move away from family and friends to go with her husband to a new job, unfortunately he has the kind of job where he has to work these holidays.  She hated the idea of being alone.  She called me and asked what should she do?

I suggested to her to seek out a church or organization that will be serving food to the poor, the homeless,  go outside of yourself and reach out to others who need help, you’ll find that you won’t be alone.

And she did that,  and every Thanksgiving, and Christmas,  she helped serve food to those in need, she volunteered at her local food bank, help gather warm coats for those in need, and ever since then she has never felt alone.

During the Summer months they return to visit family, but during the Holidays her and her now retired husband spend their time helping those who need help.

So if you are alone, go to one of those Churches or organizations and offer to help, you will never regret it.

I will continue to post articles but after the Christmas Holidays, so to Everyone who reads my Blog, no matter what your belief is, I wish you all a Very Happy and Merry Christmas and may this Season of Giving be Bright for you and your love ones!

Brightest of Blessings,
Ms. Q

A Spiritual Quote for this Season of Thanks~~~

Hello Everyone,

Ms. Q, even in her weakened state, sometimes can still be a force to reckon with and we just don't want to cross her.

But she insisted that today of all days that everyone who is a practitioner remember today as a day of Thanks for the blessings we have and to share them with those who are least fortunate be they human or animal.

Last night she was telling me and my cousins how as a child even when her Dad was out of work, how her family would share what they had with those who were in an even worse situation.  Even though her family were practitioners they were and are of Catholic or Christian Faith, even a few members who married into the family were Jewish (maybe not so orthodox), so there would be times when both holidays were celebrated.

But Ms. Q, after her Granny passed away insisted being given a hand sewn sampler that her Granny did as a young woman,  which was framed,  it hung in her Granny's dinning room and it hangs in Ms. Q's as well.   And every Holiday when the family is gathered together Ms Q insists that this quote from the Bible be spoken over the table before we say Grace.

From Matthew 25: 35-40

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome, lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me."

Then the upright will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?   When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you?   When did we find you sick or in prison and go to see you?"

And the Lord will answer, "In truth I tell you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me."

Ms. Q also remembers that it is important to care for our pets and those animals who live in the wild especially during these harsh months in the northern climates.

But she says we should do this year around, not just for the holidays, and it matters not of what belief or lack of belief you have, if everyone one of us did this, without thought of repayment or compensation, we would be wealthy beyond belief and it would not be a financial wealth but that of honor, respect, dignity, valor and of love.

In Ms. Q's words, "Blessings to All of You"
