I'm back!~~~~

Hello Dear Readers,

I'm back from my little vacation.

We would have stayed out visiting more family but they had plans as well, so had enough time to say "Hello--Goodbye"

It was lovely going out into the country, feeling Autumn in the air that feeling where the air is warm but you can sense that undercurrent of chill that lingers and reminds one that winter is coming.

We've made a few new friends along the way, I wish we could have been out longer.

So it was decided to come home, rest a bit and then at the beginning of October leave again this time to head more inland towards the mountains but stay under the snow line.

There a few old "Living" ghost towns I want to go to, when I say living it's like the population is down to 100 folks.   One place a friend of mine who lives there,  is a practitioner and has given me and my husband an open invitation.  I've been in touch with her and arrangements are made.

If I felt a bit spryer and didn't have to be concerned with home ownership I think I'd be content living the R.V. Life, a mechanized Gypsy Wagon in a way.

One of my friends does that, for most of the year she travels up and down going to the fairs both psychic and Renaissance Fairs and others, doing readings,  and then during the slow winter months rents a room or studio apartment on a month to month tenancy.

She says she has to plan her schedule very carefully for dental, doctor, tax preparer appointments as well as maintenance on her RV.   In  way I envy her, but only in a way.  There is something to be said to have a permanent residence.

While I was visiting one of my relatives told me about a web site called "Swamp Water Botanica" and my relative was pretty happy with the stuff they sold and got very good results and their products are reasonably priced.

I'm going to check out their web site and then post it as a link here on my Blog.

One of my relatives had friends visiting, well more like staying for a week to recover from Hurricane Irma,  They were lucky their home wasn't badly damaged,  a fence fell down, a few shingles ripped off of their garage roof,  the roof was patched right away the fence will be done later.

But the lady said she gathered up some water that had collected in an old cooler that had rolled around in their back yard and finally settled down and the heavy, hard, hurricane rain filled it,  and she too being a practitioner saved that water, she's thinking of making War Water with it.   All that hurricane energy, she said, was too good to allow to go to waste.

And I think maybe a few others may have also had that foresight---I pity the fools who might cross them.

My niece has been keeping tabs on my blog and informed me of some of you who have posted questions to me and I have answered them.   Hopefully my replies have been of some help to you.

We are going to have a bit of a warm spell this coming week, which is fine, and then we'll see what the weather the following week will bring.

I see the leaves curling and falling from the trees,  a neighbor had done some repairs, and another has painted their house,  come 4 p.m. a breeze kicks up a bit of dust swirling it around reminding me of dusty streets of old western towns.  It's a ghostly type of feeling in a way.  Autumn does that.

So for now I'm going to relax read my mail (snail mail) and pay bills (that never stops) and do laundry tomorrow (there's always laundry).

While I was traveling I had a chance to write up a couple of articles for my blog so it has been a productive trip as well.

I'll be posting one or two before I go on another trip.

Bright Blessings,

I'm leaving on Vacation~~~

Hello Dear Readers,

Well our bags are packed, the car is loaded,  we've had breakfast and the dishes etc are washed.

I'll be gone for two weeks, going to visit people and see places.   I'll not be able to reply to any comments or questions during that time, so please be patient.

And then back to decorate for Halloween.

I hope when I return to have a few more articles to post.

I know we're leaving a little late in the morning but I've always said getting there is 50% of the fun and to treat each excursion as a serendipitous adventure.

Fall will be arriving in a few days, in the Northern Hemisphere on Friday September 22, 2017.

For those of you who celebrate the seasons  this is a time when all things magical can happen.  On my travels I will put out a small bottle of spring water to capture the energy of the Fall equinox.  A time of Change,  of going within to meditate and improve one's self.  That is the energy to capture.

This is a perfect time to watch for "found objects" that can be used in magical workings.  It can be a feather or a pebble.  Or something you discover at a Yard Sale or Rummage Sale.

Use that time to celebrate the arrival of fall, visit a Farmers Market and discover all the blessings of the Earth, new foods to taste, new wine to drink.

I know I will.

So celebrate!!

Bright Blessings,

The Orion meteor shower and Bowls~~~

Hello Dear Readers,

Do you love Meteor Showers?

I know I do and I get excited about them when the major ones come around but usually I post only information about the major ones when there are TONS of them out there.

But again it depends upon what energy you want to draw from the constellation that they are emanating from.

Right now the Orionids is happening from August 25 to November 19   but the peak time to capture their energy will be on October 22, now if the weather is clear and there’s hardly any moon you’ll be able to see them.

According to Wikipedia The Orionids, is the most prolific meteor shower associated with Halley's Comet. The Orionids are so-called because the point they appear to come from, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Orion, but they can be seen over a large area of the sky. Orionids are an annual meteor shower which last approximately one week in late October. In some years, meteors may occur at rates of 50–70 per hour and is produced by the well-known Halley's Comet

They come from close to the star Betelgeuse which forms one shoulder of the Orion constellation—yes dear Readers,  Betelgeuse pronounced Beetle juice but please don’t say that 3 times or you’ll be borrowing trouble (if you ever watched the movie).

The Orion constellation is one of the oldest known and most easily identifiable constellation in the heavens thanks to the 3 stars that form Orion’s belt.    Even in today’s over lighted (which we need for safety) cities, on a moonless clear sky we can at least see Orion’s belt.  As a matter of fact the constellation of Orion is one that can be clearly seen all over the world, but this constellation (which I’ll refer to as “He”) always appears (in the Northern Hemisphere) around the end of October signaling the end of the harvest season and the beginning of Winter or the hunting season, it’s reversed in the Southern Hemisphere but the meaning is the same.

The legend of Orion the Hunter is somewhat obscured as he appears to be a combination of many mythical Hunter-Heroes from many different areas including Gilgamesh, and the Egyptian god Set, and as an African Rainmaking God,

Orion is very useful as an aid to locating other stars. For example by extending the line of the Belt southeastward, Sirius the Dog Star can be found and no hunter should be without his hunting dog.

But sailors knew that with the appearance of Orion especially in November, (Northern Hemisphere) stormy seas would appear and fishing would be dangerous, since according to Greek legend Orion was the offspring of Poseidon the sea god.

In Sandra Kynes’ book “Star Magic,”  she gives an excellent exploration as well as a new interpretations of the constellations that is important for 21st century practioners and believes that constellation is not only the male Orion but also Artemis, the huntress, based upon her research that among (and I quote) “early Arab astronomers saw this constellation as a female figure they called al-Jauza. Also, the name of the star Bellatrix, located on the star figure's left shoulder, is Latin, meaning "the female warrior." One other point is that the hour-glass shape of the constellation has a more feminine appearance.”

There is more interesting astronomical information about the constellation Orion but I suggest that you read up about “Him” as a constellation from Wikipedia and if you are interested in doing workings with the stars in mind then by all means purchase Ms. Kynes book “Star Magic” for your magical reference shelf.

So what does the Orion constellation and its meteor showers have to do with “the work”?   Well it depends upon if you are doing it from either a Wicca, witchcraft or conjure view point.    By looking upon it as either a male or preferably, as a female warrior figure.

Then collecting charged water from this particular shower would be viewed as being used as water for empowerment again to help overcome obstacles.  But since it also appears at it’s peak during the latter part of October (it’s peak will be Oct. 22)  and October is when the veil between the two worlds of matter and spirit are becoming its thinnest,  you should put out a large amount of water, for two reasons, one to use in ritual work or spell workings for empowerment and 2nd the larger amount of water to use in scrying, to make a floating moving magical mirror to scry for images.

It’s best to have a bowl that is black or a clear bowl that you put on a black non-reflective cloth, pour the Orion/Artimis/al-Jauza meteor water into it, meditate viewing into the water much as one would view into a crystal ball or a solid scrying mirror,  to see into the future, past lives, current happenings, it maybe the image of someone or something associated with them, it could be a feeling or an inspiration, or the sense of not doing a certain form of magic for what purpose you have in mind.    Then when done, drink a glass of plain tap water to break the connection and then pour (using a funnel-plastic) back into the jar that you keep the water in.   I suggest large mason jars to make it easier,  two at least.

So this meteor water has several uses, in doing “the work” it can be used for empowering yourself or one that needs empowerment, or since it is a hunter constellation to track down and bring to account someone who has done you wrong, or make their lives “stormy”, as well as a use for scrying as a liquid, living mirror.   This water should be kept in a dark cabinet or covered with a dark cloth to not lose its stormy ability.

On a different note:  About Bowls------

I have mentioned bowls frequently, and it’s true we do find ourselves using bowls for different things,  in the ritual cleansing of the hands I suggest a white or blue bowl, in scrying I suggest a black bowl,   when one is mixing powders or dust you’ll be using bowls as well.

It really is important to keep your “working” bowls separate from the ones you’d use doing your real world cooking and eating.   Always make sure they are separated, the one for ritual washing is never the one for scrying, and the one for mixing powders/dust is also separate.   With the ones for mixing powders/dust/herbs you may need several of them but after each use wash them with lemon scented dish-washing liquid, with the two previous ones just allow them to dry out after their use.

If you cannot find bowls in those colors then the clear bowls made by Anchor Hocking (USA company) or whatever company in your country that makes them, will work just as well but it’s too easy to mix them up, so to make sure put each bowl into or wrapped with a different color cloth, white for washing, black scrying and brown for herbs/powders etc.

It makes it much easier instead of saying all the time “No NOT that one”.

Bright Blessings,

OF ECLIPSE’S AND SLOW TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Hello Dear Readers,

Well if you live in the USA the big thing here is about the total solar eclipse which will transverse across the US from Oregon down to South Carolina.

The Eclipse will start at about 9 a.m. PDT and end at 11:30 PDT.  If you live in the mid-west or East Coast it will start later for you, so check the internet for the time in those areas.

But one thing that I must stress to everyone, even if your area you’ll only get a partial eclipse, DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WHILE IT’S HAPPENING.    I cannot stress this enough, if you do look at the sun while the eclipse is happening you will burn out your eye retina and become blind and this will be permanent.

The most absolute safest way to view this happening is to get either a paper plate or a large piece of cardboard and with a pencil or something a little larger punch a dime size hole into it.

Hold this cardboard to one side of you so that the sunlight will stream through the hole and reflect on the ground or a flat concrete surface, this makes it an indirect pin-hole camera obscura and you will see as the sunlight is reflected on the ground how much the moon is covering the sun without burning your eyes.

Now because many area’s use solar power to power up their various equipment, for the 2 ½ hours the sun is blocked will cause a drain on the power grid, unless it is necessary avoid un-necessary use of electricity, having your refrigerator working is fine and running a fan if it’s very hot, but avoid anything else that would be a drain.

But what is the magical meaning of an eclipse especially this one,  well for one it does occur when the moon is new, both the sun and the moon are in the sign of Leo when this happens.  This would be a good time for spiritually charged waters and crystals but do not charge any tools that you use in ritual during a solar eclipse,  it would confuse how to direct it’s energy.

Waters charged during an eclipse could be used for rituals to remove obstacles, burdens or flaws, so for banishing or taking things away but not for blessings.  It is also believed that a solar eclipse breaks things, metaphorically breaking symbolic changes that hold something down such as a project or getting rid of something.

Some people believe that charged waters from a solar eclipse is good for rituals involving shape-shifting or presenting a different aspect of one’s self that is if one considers that the sun would be masked by the Moon and is wearing the moon as a mask.   If you are going to capture solar eclipse waters put it into a black bottle or wrap the bottle in black paper or cloth.

There are legends in regards to solar eclipses as well as customs such as to never plant a seed or breed an animal during an eclipse or during the day of an eclipse that animals behave strangely during an eclipse and will not take care of its offspring.  That among humans a solar eclipse causes young people (teenagers) to become emotionally upset.

On the darker side it is believed that doing a dark ritual during the time the eclipse begins allows for the gathering of dark energy and spirits that are attracted because it's tied to the sky darkening.   It is also believed that people born in the sign of Leo may become more sensitive such as feeling frightening  spiritual activity around them or even becoming very emotional.

And it was often believed that wherever the eclipse was visible a cataclysmic event would occur that could possibly lead to change or the leader or the king of whatever country would pass away or be assassinated.

I do know that where I live we will have about a 77% eclipse of the sun, and that will be pretty spectacular.

Now for my 2nd part of my post.

I am right now very slow to respond to any questions or comments at this time and may not be able to get to them until after the eclipse,  I have more family visiting and I get to see some young family members before they start their school year and I’m enjoying their company.

So for those of you who have posted a question or comment, I will respond, but it will be a in a few days so please be patient.   Thank You.

And before I forget, if you don’t want to make a pin hole camera to see the eclipse then use a colander that one uses to wash salad and veggies, it has a lot of holes in it and you can see multiple eclipses.

Bright Blessings,
Ms. Q

A meteor Shower this weekend~~~

Hello Dear Readers,

Well I did say that August was going to be a busy month and it is.

It seems I forgot that we are also having the Perseid Meteor shower which is starting today!

You can see I'm excited about this.

The showers will run on August 11, 12 and 13.

The peak of the showers will be about 1 a.m. on August 12  PDT at least I think I'm right about the time---but check on the internet for where you live.

Part of the problem about viewing the showers this time is that we have a waning Gibbous Moon which is about 77 to 85% brightness for the weekend, so it may make viewing a bit hard.

Now you know I'm big on spiritually charged waters so if you want meteor shower charged waters this would be a good time.

Now why is this shower called the Perseid?

Well it appears to originate from the constellation Perseus, and I know Who was Perseus?  Perseus was the legendary founder of Mycenae and of the Perseid dynasty of Danaans, was, alongside Cadmus (founder and first king of Thebes) and Bellerophon the slayer of the Chimera, the greatest Greek hero and slayer of monsters before the days of Heracles.

From Wikipedia--- Perseus in Greek mythology, "Perseus was the son of DanaĆ«, who was sent by King Polydectes to bring the head of Medusa the Gorgon—whose visage caused all who gazed upon her to turn to stone—as a wedding gift. Perseus slew Medusa in her sleep, and Pegasus and Chrysaor appeared from her body. Perseus continued to the realm of Cepheus whose daughter Andromeda was to be sacrificed to Cetus the sea monster.

Perseus rescued Andromeda from the monster by killing it with his diamond sword.[8] He turned Polydectes and his followers to stone with Medusa's head and appointed Dictys the fisherman king. Perseus and Andromeda married and had six children. In the sky, Perseus lies near the constellations Andromeda, Cepheus, Cassiopeia (Andromeda's mother), Cetus, and Pegasus."

So why collect that water, well if you need courage to overcome monsters of any kind this kind of water used in spells or rituals would be the kind you'd need.   And since it is a waning Gibbous Moon, waning moons are for banishing so it would work to help banish your fears.

If you are big on star gazing then for the next three nights it should be fun, pack a nighttime picnic dinner and if it's chilly where you are be sure to include hot coffee or hot chocolate.

Bright Blessings,
Ms. Q

The Great Eclipse of August 21, 2017

Dear Readers,

So much is being ballyhooed about this fantastic Eclipse of the Sun that will occur on August 21 of this year, and the fact that it will be crossing most of North America.  I certainly could not ignore it.

For those of you who collect spiritually charged waters and are in the path of this eclipse, I would say gather what you can using either Spring, River or Ocean water (or if you are lucky rain water), if you are not near anyone of these natural forming bodies of water, then get Spring Bottled water and use that to collect the eclipse’s energy, do not use tap water as that is ‘dead water’.

But many astrologers have their concerns about this eclipse, especially is Mr. Mark Lerner, who wrote an article (very long) about it,  and it is very detailed in his description of it,  I have the link here: http://www.earthaquariusnews.com/page_900/beclipse-catastrophe-why-august-21-might-not-be-so

On George Noory’s Coast To Coast radio program Link here:  http://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2017/07/18     He described the possible ramifications of such an event, even sighting how such an eclipse presaged the Kennedy Assassination in 1963.

You can print out a copy of his article from his web site as it a very long read, including charts showing the path of the eclipse.     If you are into astrology or want to know exactly the type of energy this eclipse will present read the article, you will find it very informative.

I know for myself I will be staying home on that date, here in the northern hemisphere it is the “dog days” of summer so it will be best to stay home and avoid traveling anywhere either a few days before or after this eclipse as a lot of hotels and camp grounds will be full and traffic will be crazy.

So I have no intentions of going anywhere and just simply rest here at home.

Bright Blessings,
Ms. Q
