A Thanksgiving Blessing~~~~

Hello Everyone,

Right now I am staying out of my kitchen while my niece and children are doing pre-Thanksgiving preparations, baking pies, figuring out what foods go into what serving dishes, stretching out the table and setting the table cloth, bringing up the extra chairs, chilling the sparkling cider, and soft drinks (beer for the men folk) and a couple of dogs underfoot hoping for a handout to fall from the counter or table or secretly given to them.

But on Thanksgiving everyone who is a practitioner should remember this day as a day of Thanks for the blessings we have and to share them with those who are least fortunate be they human or animal.

I remember as a child even when my Dad was out of work, how the family would share what they had with those who were in an even worse situation.   My family although practitioners, were and are Catholic, like Marie Laveau.   And the teachings of Jesus is important to me.

Thanksgiving is a uniquely American Holiday, a time for family to get together or those that are considered family.  It is a time to realize how blessed we are.

That is why I share this quote from the Bible for Thanksgiving:

From Matthew 25: 35-40

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you made me welcome, lacking clothes and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me."

Then the upright will say to him in reply, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?   When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome, lacking clothes and clothe you?   When did we find you sick or in prison and go to see you?"

And the Lord will answer, "In truth I tell you, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me."

We should do this for those who are in far more difficult situation and it is also important to care for our pets and those animals who live in the wild especially during these harsh winter months in the northern climates.

We really should do this year around, not just for the holidays, and it matters not of what belief or lack of belief you have, if everyone one of us did this, without thought of repayment or compensation, we would be wealthy beyond belief and it would not be a financial wealth but that of honor, respect, dignity, valor and of love.

So not only should that quote from the Bible be recited at the Thanksgiving table but also this prayer:

Bless us Oh Lord
For these thy Gifts
Which we have received
from your Bounty,
Through Christ your Son.

Bless us Oh Lord
For protecting us and our loved ones
from harm, and want
Through Christ your Son

Protect Oh Lord,
our Loved Ones who cannot
be with us on this Day of Thanks.
And are watched over by Christ Your Son.

And remember Oh Lord
Those who have gone before us
into your kingdom and your love,
that we may remember them and give Thanks
for the good they have done and
the sacrifice that they have done for Family and Friends.

We ask this and pray for this through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

 Bright Blessings to All of You,
Ms. Q

A Super-Super Moon on November 14 (November 15 south of the equator)

Hello Everyone,

Get out your bottles of spring water (or if it’s raining your collection bowls) we are going to have a Super-Super Moon on November 14,  we’ve had super moon’s before as a matter of fact the last full Moon in October was a super moon, but nothing like what we will have on November 14th.

That’s because this is the closest the Moon will get to Earth until 25 November 2034, so you really don’t want to miss this one.   The last time we had a Super-Super Moon was in January of 1948, this is because as NASA explains it, “because the Moon has an elliptical orbit, one side - called the perigee - is about 48,280 km (30,000 miles) closer to Earth than the other side (the apogee).

When the Sun, the Moon, and Earth line up as the Moon orbits Earth, that’s known as syzygy (definitely something you want to keep in your back pocket for your next Scrabble match).

When this Earth-Moon-Sun system occurs with the perigee side of the Moon facing us, and the Moon happens to be on the opposite side of Earth from the Sun, we get what’s called a perigee-syzygy.

That causes the Moon to appear much bigger and brighter in our sky than usual, and it’s referred to as a supermoon - or more technically, a perigee moon.

Supermoons aren’t all that uncommon - we just had one on October 16, and after the November 14 super-supermoon, we’ll have another one on December 14.

But because the November 14 Moon becomes full within about 2 hours of perigee, it’s going to look the biggest it has in nearly seven decades.

And that is huge!   The best way to view it is when if you're viewing from a spot where the Moon is sitting closer to the horizon, it can create what's known as 'moon illusion'.

"When the moon is near the horizon, it can look unnaturally large when viewed through trees, buildings, or other foreground objects," says NASA. "The effect is an optical illusion, but that fact doesn’t take away from the experience."  So if you want to see the full moon at it's "largest" then look for it at the horizon at moonrise or moonset. If you wait until it's at it's zenith in the heavens then it will appear small to you.

To see it at its absolute biggest, it's expected to reach the peak of its full phase on the morning of November 14 at 8:52am EST (1352 GMT).  For those of you in Australia, you'll need to wait until November 15 to see it, and the Moon will hit its full phase at 12:52am AEST.  (Thank you NASA)  Since the East Coast is 3 to 4 hours ahead of the West Coast deduct 3 to 4 hours from the East Coast Time  which if I’m correct is 4:52 or 5:52 AM PST (I hope I'm right)

Because it’s a Super-Supermoon this time a very powerful time for works as well. Having the super-supermoon only increases the power.

I do want to warn you, my personal experience as well as that of a few of my friends in using super-super moon water, have been very, very crazy, so it’s best to handle with care. One of my friends added the water to some jar work she was doing for myself and the situation went crazy in an unbelievable short amount of time.  From what I’ve seen with super-supermoon energy, it can be hard to handle and can go from order to chaos real fast unless you are very careful using it.  And once done it can be almost impossible to undo, you just have to let it ride out.

There are many other implications which are linked to this special lunar event beyond the scientific meanings, and perhaps the biggest one is the cosmic shift in energy that will accompany it. Astrologically speaking, the November supermoon will occur when the sun is in Scorpio and the moon is opposite that, in Taurus.

This brings to the forefront a sort of tug of war between the powerful, determined, and intense Scorpio energy and the responsible, stability craving Taurus. The resulting clash will create a burst of energy which you can either embrace and grow with, or oppose and struggle against.   That’s why water energized by the rays of this Super-super Moon will be very powerful and possibly uncontrollable if not used right.

On the negative side of this Moon energy influence often means there are great obstacles to surmount on life’s testing path. However it does not totally prevent success. At this Full Moon any fame will come with a certain amount of notoriety. The Moon is susceptible to the melancholia of its Saturn rulership.

This period is good for those who can make a career out of doom and gloom. Others could find the pain that comes with such a sensitive moon intolerable. The temptation to self-medicate with drugs (Especially alcohol) can be high at this time and depression a problem too. There is a tendency to self-destruction and those touched by this moon might feel their lives are fated, even cursed for the next two weeks.

However at the end of this period you might realize that if fate hasn’t killed you then it has actually made you stronger! Life gets better the Moon wanes, and by the New Moon you will feel much less victimized and become quite fearless. Generally the Moon in Taurus breeds those who are life’s troopers! Bruised and sometimes battered, they get back up to proudly show off their battle scars. Around this full Moon there can be night terrors, (Those of you with young children be prepared for them to be upset)  dreams could possibly be extremely vivid and can sometimes be prophetic. On the positive side dreams can also be uplifting and inspiring. A ritual to banish phobias and paranoia would be good at this time.

But if you choose to look at it on the positive side you can find this super-super moon to be wonderful.

Astrologer Dorothy Morgan has this to say about this upcoming Extra Super Moon:

With all the crazy unexpected things that are happening in the world lately, the upcoming supermoon set to happen on November 14th will finally give us something that we can all look forward to seeing. The full moon that rises in the night sky next Monday will be a truly spectacular sight to behold, one that is actually worthy of our attention and appreciation. That’s because the moon will shine brighter and appear larger than it has in the last 68 years!

The rare November supermoon is certainly one for the record books, not since January 25, 1948 has a full moon come this close to Earth. If you’re wondering what it takes for the moon to attain supermoon status, it’s the right combination of the location, timing, and phase of the moon. First and foremost, the moon has to be in either its illuminated full moon phase or the dark and entirely invisible new moon phase. Then the moon’s orbit must bring it around to the one exact point where it comes closest to the Earth. Finally, there is the timing and these two factors must closely coincide with one another for the moon to be called a supermoon.

While all full supermoons appear super-sized and much larger and brighter than usual size, this November one is extra special because it’s happening when the moon is the closest to the Earth that it has been in the last seven decades. As such, it will likely be the biggest moon you’ve ever seen.

I’m not seeing this Taurus Full Moon as something to worry about.

For one thing, the Moon is exalted in Taurus, meaning the Moon finds tremendous comfort here. Happy and serene. We always look at the aspects for further information, and besides the obvious opposition to the Scorpio Sun this Full Moon only makes two other major aspects, both of which are harmonious ones. There’s tremendous depth and power at this lunation but in a way that is accessible, gentle, and supportive.

 This Taurus Full Moon is a great time to balance these grounding forces: are you dealing with too much drama, should you resolve to find a more stable atmosphere? Or, do you need more passion and intensity in your life to prevent mental and emotional atrophy?

Whichever thing is needed in your life, Taurus is a chill sign and we all need to take the chilliest route here. (Especially here in the U.S., everyone needs to simmer down right about now…) This Full Moon does look like a slow, steady burn with a focus on the sensual. Enjoyment of the good things in life isn’t just self-indulging; it’s about making the spiritual life tangible, as there’s no distinction between the physical and the spiritual to Taurus.

The Full Moon in Taurus will also be drawing out issues involving money and our self-worth. Self-worth is often tied to money (or, more commonly, lack of money) but also deeply involves how we are respected for our standards or how we ourselves respect our own standards. If your values system is working out for you and you’ve got good people in your life who also value your values, you’ll see evidence of it here.

Unless something is very wrong within certain financial or personal matters, on the whole this shouldn’t be a particularly strong or upsetting Full Moon in material ways on the personal level.

Now, the global financial scene might be different, since there’s actually quite a bit of “propping up” being done to make finances look more robust on paper than they really are. While this single lunation isn’t a huge upset, it does occur around the time the more unsettling space weather starts building in intensity, so while the Full Moon won’t exactly stir things up it can highlight things already coming to a head in global events.

What is important during this Full Moon?  Feeling stable and safe is an important thing for Taurus. This is why some people who have a lot of Taurus in their charts can’t seem to throw anything away, they feel safer having stuff around them; and even if you are not worried about stuff you can still ask yourself do I feel safe? If not this what you will focus on during the Full Moon.

So let me boil this down for you; before the Moon is Full take a few days and start evaluating where you might have too much, or need to shift your energy so you feel safer and more secure. Or letting go of something/s that is keeping you from being creative and sharing your beauty in the world.

Then any time after the Moon is full, at 8:52 am Eastern Time (be sure to adjust for Pacific and Central time), take out some paper and write out the things that you need to let go of. The things that are holding you back from feeling safe, the things that may be keeping you from earning a really good living.

Is your self-esteem an issue? That is also related to Taurus so see what would make you feel better and make that change.

This Full Moon is strong, not as strong as an eclipse would be, but it is pretty close. So tap into how you feel about your material things and what you value. Physical or not I don’t care, take a long look at your value system and see where you need a shift. Use this Full Moon to release the unwanted things in your life and finally make the change you have been waiting a long time to make.

~~~~~
I found   A Full Moon Release Ritual  that I feel will beneficial to many of you.
This is good to do At the Full Moon, the energy is powerful and intense. This surge enables you to take action – especially in regards to the New Moon intentions you may have made two weeks prior. This is a perfect time for releasing something that no longer serves you; or letting go of something that you no longer need in your life; or an opportunity to let go of an aspect of yourself that you have outgrown.
A Full Moon ritual is a powerful way to invoke this (a ritual being a set of actions, often with symbolic value, performed in a ceremonial manner). Releasing. Letting go. Unburdening yourself. Purging.
You get rid of the old, celebrating your emergence by stepping out of an old way of being / an old identity / behaviour /  attitude / relationship / frame of mind / situation.
The ritual marks this inner transformation in a formal, ceremonial way. Emphasizing to yourself and the Universe that you are ready to let go for the new you to emerge. Making way for new magical opportunities to come to you.
Purification using the elements  of Fire and water they are great symbolic ways of purifying. Fire – consumes, burns away the old,  Water – cleanses, washes away
What you need: pen, paper, matches, candle, two small bowls, water
If possible do this outside under the Full Moon, connecting directly with Mother Nature and the Moon’s energies.  If you cannot be outside, find a quiet place indoors.
    Clear your energy. Imagine standing under a silver waterfall and allow all negative and non-serving energies to be washed away.
  Create a sacred space. Find a quiet place to sit, declutter and clean, place crystals or other special items around you.
  Light the candle, fill one small bowl with water – place both in front of you, along with the other empty bowl.
  Take a few deep breaths, center yourself and then begin to write on the piece of paper what you wish to release from your life, what limiting beliefs you want to be free from, what no longer serves you or what you want to let go of.
  When you have finished your list, sign and date the page.
  Breathe deep into your heart and declare “I now let this go. And it is so.” Then place one corner of the piece of paper over the candle allowing the flame to light your page (throw the page into the empty bowl as it burns) watching the flames consume what you are releasing, the smoke taking your intention to the Universe. Please note: if your piece of paper struggles to light or burn, please consider if you are really ready to let this go! Only when you are willing to let go will the page burn – the faster the flames, the more willing you are to let it go.
 Then place your hands in the bowl of water. Signifying cleansing of the old and opening to the new.
 Remove your hands from the water and take a deep breath. Sit in silence for a moment. You may want to keep your candle burning for a while as you sit, allowing inspiration to spark.
This is only a suggestion of a ritual. Use your intuition to guide you. You may just want to sit with a lit candle and not burn your page. You may want to have a shower or jump into the ocean as part of a cleansing ritual. You may want to meditate on what to let go of rather than write it down.
Go with what works for you and what you feel comfortable with. It all comes down to intention. As long as your stay centered in why you are doing things in a certain way, the results will follow as you intended them to.
So make the most of this Super-Super moon that is coming, collect your water and do your ritual to release all that is negative from you.   Because this is the perfect time to do it.
Bright Blessings,
I'm back and feeling better and my thoughts on this Presidential Election~~~~
Hello Everyone,
This is Ms. Q.
I’m back and feeling better, I want to Thank all of you for your Good Wishes for my getting better,  Thank You again.
Some of you have posted questions please be patient I will answer them as soon as humanly possible.
I have to admit that when I get a vaccination shot be it for the flu, shingles (that can really hurt), or pneumonia, that I am flattened, down and out for the count, and the only thing is to rest for a few days,  no fever or chills, just a general achiness, sleepiness and tiredness, more than usual.  And as one gets older one has to be careful even with vaccinations.
This one really did me in,  I know with younger folks they feel a little off, the arm hurts and then the next day they’re fine.   Not me, just let me find my bed and let me sleep.
And it seems I slept through all the “nail biting” watching the results of the polls, well as I said to my niece “It’s in the hands of the people” and the people spoke and sent a clear message to the former administration.
A lot of people protested across the nation, even doing vandalism, students walked out of class rooms,  and Teachers even in our area a Principal walked out with them and voiced their displeasure.
 But the teachers and that Principal made a big mistake.  Instead of walking out they should have made this election a “Teachable Moment” and taught the students how this all worked and why it happened, and educate them on how our election process as well as how the government works.   They lost an opportunity and instead went with emotion instead of logic, at least we have the right of free assembly, there are countries that do not grant that right,  but even so it does not give people the right to destroy and vandalize property.
 If you look at the numbers,  Trump carried 30 states to Clinton’s 20 states, and even though she might have won the popular vote by over 100 thousand,  Trump got the Electoral Votes of 288 to Clinton’s 233 (or was it 218)  and that is what decides the election.  The Electoral College will meet on December 19 after all the ballots are counted (mail in’s and absentee) to vote and declare who is the winner and if that person is qualified (either by health or mental stability) to be president.   That is part of the checks and balances in play.
We also have to look at each state county by county (or in Louisiana parish by parish) and see which way each county voted and that is telling, very telling, it’s sending a message to the administration what people are thinking and saying,  even in blue states, you have to look at each county to see how the vote went because even if a State went blue (democrat) if you look at the counties, not all of them went blue they went red (republican)   we as a nation have to look at that.
If nothing else this is a Teachable moment, for a lot of people especially our younger generation, they truly need to understand how our government system works and how constitutional law works and the checks and balances that was put into our governing system by our Founding Fathers,   they did that to prevent mob rule and a monarchy, they had seen in Europe what happened they did not want it here. (Think French Revolution and the unwarranted execution of innocent people)
When I got my head back together after my vaccination shot, I meditated and I decided to draw a card to get an idea of what the people of this nation need to do to get itself back together and It seems we need to know if we have the ability to carry on after the events of this past election day so drawing a card from Tarot I drew STRENGTH.  And just like in one of those car insurance commercials I say “Perfect”!  But in a good way.
Strength's Meaning is about Energy · Facing problems · Strength · Vitality · Willpower: Raw power. Health and physical fortitude. A surge of tremendous force. Recovery from sickness. Victory after apprehension and fear. The ability to face and overcome opposition brings the inner qualities of strength and forbearance. Delays and setbacks will be overcome.
Strength is the rawest form of power, and this nation possess it in some form. It is a very happy card if people are fighting illness or recovering from injury. As might be suspected, its influence over this nation, and the use this nation can put it to, can trend towards light or dark. This nation likely trends towards facing its problems courageously, head-on, and conquering them through perseverance and will. With this ability to overcome life's obstacles, though, comes the responsibility for this nation to control itself, and it this card may be a warning this nation to take command of its actions or emotions before they damage each individual or the people one cares about.  Stop the protests, stop the rioting, stop the vandalism, it solves Nothing!  And only divides this nation even further.
This nation’s strength can be balanced and have both physical endurance and mental strength. This inner strength may lead this nation to explore the other potentials for its abilities.
It should not turn down any offers that will change and improve its future. It must Have faith in its own convictions, and be strong enough to trust where it will land.
There is a strong, energetic release in this nation’s future which will lead it into major life changes. By understanding this nation’s true value, the people will make the most of a wonderful chance to improve their lives.
The Strength card shows a presence of self-assurance and confidently facing problems in this nation’s life. It suggests those who enjoys power but has the capacity to exercise great self-control in all matters. Patience and strength may be required in all pursuits, and the answer this nation seeks is most likely yes.
This is perhaps the best card to draw for the days after an election, it doesn’t matter who won or lost, what is important is that we draw upon the strength that we have, mentally, emotionally and spiritually to get on with our lives and do the best we can, make the most of what we have and know that we have the courage of our personal convictions to carry on.
The beauty about this card is it gives a person the courage to know who are really good friends and who are fly by nights, who will be one’s friend in spite of political differences because a true friend knows that not everyone will agree on everything.   And that takes strength.
We have the strength to face life’s difficulties, its foibles, its ups and downs and if we can laugh about it and learn from it even better.  Or at least to know how to rant at it and then get on with trying to solve it.   And that takes strength.
We have to see what develops and work with it accordingly, the local measures is what will directly affect us, but what happens on a nationwide level will take years to affect us.  The main thing is to not run to Canada, which some people plan to do which is foolish and stupid, that means that they do not have the strength to deal with things or be active in making changes or even adapting.
By having strength on mental, emotional, spiritual and to a certain extent physical levels we are the better persons, we are truly the courageous persons, we rise about the fray,  those that rant and rail at things are small minded and ineffective, they do nothing, but truly strong people will see where their abilities can help to make things strong.
Those that stay stuck in the past the “shoulda bins”, are not seeing past what is now nor are they looking for positive opportunities but instead will try to shove their agenda down one’s throat until they force one to accept it.   No, a truly strong person will say or think  “I Know my own mind, I will make up my own mind and it doesn’t have to be your way”
Because a truly strong person will draw strength to follow their own path, not someone else’s.   We may might find losing some friends, but then were they really friends?  The real friends will stay with you in spite of differences.
We should not have protests that block commerce or vandalize businesses, that is not dignified, it only shows the losers to be nothing more than thugs, and that projects a negative image to other countries, and that is something we don’t want to do.
The Founding Fathers of this country created a democratic republic, not a democracy, the system they created has three separate divisions that are equal and within that there are checks and balances they did that because they, the Founding Fathers, saw what happened in foreign countries, so they created a system with checks and balances to prevent mob rule,  but if people protest in the streets and do not look at how the governmental system works, then they are pushing mob rule  which causes chaos.
The winner of this election cannot become a monarch, because of our checks and balances in our governmental system, but the people of this country needs to let their representatives know that they, the people, are not being listened to, that is why we have elections.  From my perspective it seems that the loosing candidate has not really listened to all the people of this country and that is why the loosing candidate loss.   And that sends a very strong message to everyone in the former and in the up-coming administration, they lost touch which what was and is really best for this country.   And that is a serious wake up call.
And that is what the protestors are not hearing, and are following the old agenda, and they need to learn from this election, they need to look at the demographics.  They need to listen to what the ignored people are saying and work with them, not protest but build together to make this country even better.
My Dad use to say “When a new president and administration is voted into office it’s like going to the dentist for a teeth cleaning or to take care of a toothache, we don’t like going to the dentist, it’s painful, but working with the dentist we have healthier teeth, working with a new president might make for a healthier government”    My Dad was right, and it takes strength to do that because sometimes we have to make concessions to help achieve something greater.
I am going to reprint here an article by Noah Feldman.
In reading this article we as a nation should take heart and strength from it.
The Constitution Is Built to Protect the Losers
Noah Feldman
It’s all about the Constitution now. Republicans will control the White House and both chambers of Congress. They will be able to pass -- or repeal -- their preferred laws, because that’s democracy. But to the Donald Trump opponents worried about what his presidency will bring, know this: There will still be limits to congressional or executive action, limits dictated by the Constitution and enforceable by the courts. The Constitution is designed to resist the tyranny of the majority. James Madison’s machine of constitutional protection is about to kick into gear.
The Bill of Rights and the principle of equal protection give the main limits on government action, but the list of enumerated rights alone doesn’t capture the purpose of the system. Most crucially, free speech and equal protection are supposed to preserve the capacity of electoral losers -- Democrats this time around -- to continue to participate in government.
That means Trump and the Republican Party can’t stop their political opponents from expressing their views. They can’t jail opponents in violation of habeas corpus. And they can’t adopt laws that discriminate on the basis of race or sex or religion or national origin.
The good news is that the courts as presently configured are overwhelmingly likely to enforce these restrictions. Start with the First Amendment jurisprudence. Today’s judicial conservatives are more likely to be free-speech absolutists than judicial liberals. I have great confidence that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, for example, would continue to apply his strongly speech-protectionist reading of the free-speech clause against laws passed by a Republican Congress, and that he would have no trouble getting a majority for his approach.
As for equal protection, the deepest judicial divisions for several decades have been over affirmative action, which conservatives say amounts to prohibited discrimination. There’s been much less disagreement about whether laws that facially discriminate on the basis of race are permitted: The consensus is that they are not unless justified by a compelling interest and narrowly tailored to it. A Republican-passed law that discriminated overtly would almost certainly be struck down.
True, the justices have sometimes divided about whether laws that are facially race-neutral are actually discriminatory. It might be hard to get consensus about such laws. But once the Supreme Court is back to full strength with the appointment and confirmation of a conservative to fill Antonin Scalia’s seat, the swing vote is going to be Justice Anthony Kennedy once again. And as the gay-rights cases demonstrated, Kennedy is acutely attuned to the value of human dignity. He’s also made it extremely clear that he has no interest in reversing Roe v. Wade.
If Trump gets to replace a liberal justice -- Ruth Bader Ginsburg (age 83) or Stephen Breyer (78) -- then the court would have an outright conservative majority. Conceivably, that could lead to revisiting decisions like Roe v. Wade or the gay-marriage decision, Obergefell v. Hodges.
But it’s extremely unlikely that the court would fundamentally roll back either of these rights. Despite its unpopularity, Roe has proved stunningly durable over the 43 (!) years since it was decided. Reversing it at this point would mark the court as wildly disrespectful of precedent. Chief Justice John Roberts has repeatedly signaled that he considers such extreme activism to be distasteful. And as a practical political matter, a reversal of Roe would fuel backlash against Republican candidates.
Gay marriage is, of course, a much newer right, and it would be easier for a conservative majority to overturn Obergefell, which has not yet acquired the patina of precedent. Yet the small-c conservative aspect of the Obergefell decision, with its celebration of the bourgeois institution of marriage, renders it much safer than might otherwise be thought. There would also be the tremendous practical problem of what to do about thousands of gay people who are already married -- not to mention the further practical difficulties associated with gay marriage being recognized in some states but not others.
This is not to deny that a conservative Supreme Court could render strongly conservative decisions on a wide range of issues. It could, and it would.
Rather, the point is that even a conservative court would police the boundaries of legislation to preserve the basic structures of fundamental democratic rights. It might not do so aggressively, but it would still impose limits on Congress and the president.
Why am I so confident the courts would play their designated role of protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority? The answer lies in the power of the institutional culture of the judiciary and of the rule of law.
There are many controversial issues in American legal thought, and there exist strongly conservative views on all of them. But even the most conservative judges and lawyers believe today that one purpose of the Constitution is to protect against majority oppression and that it’s the job of judges to make it do so.
There is good reason for legal conservatives to celebrate the election results and for legal liberals to deplore them. And if the court goes conservative, there will be plenty of opportunities for conservative justices to push their agenda.
The crucial takeaway, however, is that the basic rights and the rule of law aren’t going to disappear because Donald Trump was elected. The Constitution was built for our situation. It will endure, whatever challenges it may face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes it’s takes strength to keep silent and just listen and then do what works best,  sometimes we slip up,  but if we can maintain that strength of one’s own convictions,  in a dignified and coming together way then this nation can come out of it stronger.    And that is what we should do.

Bright Blessings,
Ms. Q
